BFA at La Bienal

The Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía (BFA) will perform on September 5, 2020 at the Lope de Vega Theatre within the framework of the XXI Biennial of Seville. This performance will be the beginning of an Andalusian tour in order to celebrate the 10 years of the declaration of flamenco as World Heritage, the distinction awarded by the Unesco on November 16, 2010. In this way, the “25th anniversary show” of the public dance company will visit the main Andalusian theatres.

The 21st Seville Flamenco Biennial will be held from September 4 to October 4. The new tour of the Andalusian Flamenco Ballet (BFA) will start on September 5 at the Lope de Vega theatre in Seville, being one of the great attractions of the XXI Flamenco Biennial, and later the “25th anniversary show” can be seen in Huelva, Córdoba and Malaga, from October, continuing their tour in Cádiz, Granada, Jaén and Almería. 


The “25th anniversary show” of the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, whose premiere took place at the Teatro de la Maestranza in a one off representation on November 26, 2019, will be presented with a new approach, including new artistic additions. The program is made up of choreographies by Mario Maya, Manolo Marín, Javier Latorre, José Antonio Ruiz, Cristina Hoyos, Rubén Olmo, Álvaro Paños and Úrsula López, the current director of the BFA.
