This year, we return with great excitement to Romania to take part in the 33rd edition of the Sibiu International Theatre Festival, for the eleventh time in a row, and the Sibiu International Performing Arts Market, two of the most important cultural events on the international performing arts scene in Europe.
On this occasion, we will open the festival with the iconic production “Carmen” by Granada Flamenco Ballet: https://www.sibfest.ro/en/homepage-127/events/carmen The performances will take place on June 19, with two shows at 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase this remarkable piece on such a prestigious international stage, at Ion Besoiu theatre with 600 seats.
Over the years, we have had the privilege of presenting high-quality productions at this festival, such as “Viva” by Manuel Liñán and Rafaela Carrasco’s “Nocturna”, strengthening our presence and commitment to promoting flamenco worldwide.
In addition, on June 20, we will offer a flamenco master class, where participants will enjoy a unique experience alongside our artists. It will be a close, dynamic, and participatory environment designed to bring flamenco to new audiences and share our passion for this art form, thanks to Granada Flamenco Ballet’s artistic director, Javier Martos.
We will also be present at SIPAM from June 22-25, where we will have the opportunity to connect with artistic directors, cultural managers, artists and producers. This meeting will allow us to present our productions, explore new collaborations, and continue expanding flamenco beyond our borders.

During our stay, from June 18 to June 25, we will also reinforce our commitment to sustainability by promoting shared travel for the entire artistic and technical team, helping to reduce our environmental impact. That is why we will stay for longer, not offering just a workshop but also splitting the cost of the flights with Opera Aperta Festival at the prestigious Cluj Napoca Opera House!
