This year, Flamenco Agency will have the pleasure of attending the 25th (“Future Forward”) Conference of the Association of Asia Pacific Performing Arts Centres (AAPPAC) in Singapore, 19-21 October 2022!
Hosted by Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, this will be the first time that the conference has taken on a hybrid format, both in person and online. Hence, “Future Forward” encircles the uncertainty of times passed around the world. The conference serves as an opportunity for artists of all kinds to gather and consider future directions and possibilities for the arts from an inclusive, sustainable and interdisciplinary point of view. With the difficulties all Flamenco artists endured during times of lockdowns and pandemic, it is a privilege to attend a conference at the forefront of exploring the raw constitution of the arts industry itself.
We are very happy to be returning for a second time to experience the biggest network of arts centres and organisations in the region. It is of particular excitement that this conference also marks the opening of the Singtel Waterfront Theatre, a remarkably technologically centred building, yet another striving step forward in the dissemination of more disability-accessible concert venues.
In addition, in September or October 2023, Flamenco Agency is bringing Granada Flamenco Ballet to Asia on tour, performing their highly-acclaimed productions, Carmen and Dance for Me. We are looking forward to bringing our Flamenco passion to an area so rich in artistic diversity.
