“Hamlet” at the I. Shakespeare Festival in Craiova (Romania) on May 22nd, 2024

After the success at Gdansk Shakespeare Festival last summer, we are delighted to announce that The International Shakespeare Festival has invited us to perform the 14th edition of   “Shakespeare Flamenco, Hamlet, The dance of the melancholic” by Jesús Herrera Flamenco Ballet on May 22nd 2024: https://www.shakespearefestival.online/en/eveniment/hamlet-dansul-melancolicului-jesus-herrera-flamenco-ballet-spania/ . This is bound to be 1 hour and 30 minutes of pure beauty and entertainment for the audience.

This festival, now considered one of the greatest Shakespeare festivals in the world, was established in 1994. Hosted by the National Theatre “Marin Sorescu” in Craiova, this esteemed cultural institution, funded by the Ministry of Culture, has earned global recognition over the years. Since 1995, it has been a proud member of the European Theatre Convention (ETC), making history as the first theatre from a Central and Eastern European country to join this esteemed international trade association.

Additionally, it forms part of the European Shakespeare Festivals Network foundation which aims to not only promote the works of William Shakespeare and the exchange of information, but also to produce new and innovative interpretations of the plays and various educational programmes.

This prestigious festival offers the opportunity for theatre professionals and the public to compare the artistry of Shakespeare’s works in different renditions. It does this through seminars, conferences, workshops on acting, directing, design, and criticism, along with screenings of famous performances, symphonic concerts, exhibitions of theatre design, painting, photography, philately, and book and DVD launches.

This will be the première of our Shakespeare Flamenco in Romania. Do not miss it! Join us for an unforgettable experience at our live performances!
