If 2023 was a remarkable year, 2024 has been even better. Let’s do a diachronic journey through this fructiferous year tours!
The season started in Valencia with a performance of “Luxuria”, preparatory for the USA Florida tour, where we performed in front of 3000 people. Furthermore, we returned to the States bringing one of the best female flamenco singers of the world, Esperanza Fernández, with “El Amor Brujo” by De Falla, accompanied by “Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería under the direction of Carlos Miguel Prieto, within the frame of Bravo Vail Festival, Colorado. How exciting was it to perform in one of the top three summer festivals of the United States of America!
From America to Africa, to perform for the first time at La Réunion, where we offered 3 performances of “Luxuria” in different cities, not just for the general audience but also for schools and special needs people too, in our engagement with society and sustainability, staying for longer on the island. We also performed in Asia with Duquende!
We have improved in this 2024 our flexibility, offering our clients more optional artistic formats and variety, to adapt to different stage sizes and budgets. In this way, we have reduced “Luxuria” to a 4 artists version in Lithuania, and on the other side, we brought “Dance for Me” in a large ballet format to perform in front of 10.000 people within the frame of Plaza Mayor de Madrid for Feria de San Isidro. After attending two conferences in Germany, as EFA & Classical Next, trying to travel as sustainable as possible, we were invited to participate at the prestigious International Shakespeare Festival in Craiova, Romania, with “Hamlet”, accompanied by the Spanish Ambassador in Romania. Likewise, we cooperated also for the first time at Khamoro Festival in Prague, Czech Republic, with several performances.
The Spanish “Acción Cultural Española” (ACE) grants for flights and accommodation awarded our clients with 17.000 €. It was a very useful way to start the summer season! Specifically, they granted our first performance at “Les Nuits Flamencas”, in France, “Carta Blanca, Mi Jardín Impuro (Un ojo en Picasso)” by Andrés Marín, where he also gave a masterclass.
ACE also supported Sibiu Internacional Theatre Festival where we brought 8 performances: two gigs of “Nocturna” by Rafaela Carrasco, two pre-première of “Carmen” by Barcelona Flamenco Ballet (BFB) and four concerts of “Hispano”. All performances of Rafaela Carrasco and BFB were sold out and both maestros taught workshops in Sibiu.
“Carmen” world tour started at Cluj-Napoca Opera House with two sold-out days in a row, within the frame of Opera Aperta Festival, where photographer Nicu Cherciu took these beautiful pictures: https://flamencoagency.com/clu-napoca-opera-house-world-premiere-nicu-cherciu/
The 2300 seats venue at Jūrmala Festival were also sold out by “Carmen” (where we will return in 2025), and also in Hungary, plus at the prestigious “Saarema Opera Festival”, Estonia, where we also visited the European Capital Culture in Tartu, collaborating with Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès. This was an impressive production with 100 artists on stage:

The Baltic tour finished at Imatra Festival, Finland. Before the end of the summer we returned to Romania, as the Summer Season of Performing Arts de Constanța’s programmers attended the successful pre-première at FITS, Sibiu.
September was a busy month. We corroborated our partnership with AAPPAC in Taiwan, and we also performed in a whole arena, at Prishtina Klan Arena, in Kosovo, opening the feminist festival FEMART.
In October we performed “Hamlet” again in Romania, this time closing the 1st edition of Festivalul International de Teatru Transilvania. Furthermore, the most ambitious tour this month took us again to the Baltic countries of Latvia and Estonia, performing “Flamenco Suite” by Compañía Flamenca Antonio Andrade in Ogre, Cēsis, Tallinn and Riga. It was actually the 5th time that we were performing at Cēsis Concert Hall, in such a special day as the Día de la Hispanidad, Spanish National Day, while celebrating also the 10th anniversary of the concert hall.
From Riga we flew to Hong Kong to attend Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo (HKPAK) 1st edition. To make our trip more sustainable we stayed for longer in Asia, within the frame of China SPAF.
While we were in Shanghai, we made another dream come true, obtaining another smashing success, to perform “Carmen” in one of the new largest concert halls in Europe, at the National Forum of Music in Wroclaw.
We also toured Scandinavia in November: Norway, Sweden & Denmark; winning the sympathy of the audience thanks to “Carmen”. The show was sold out four days in a row at Victoria Teatern in Malmö after a performance in Drammen. In addition, we performed in Copenhagen and Slagelse too.
To finish this unforgettable year, we will be in Mannheim, Germany, for Christmas: https://flamencoagency.com/carmen-2024-world-tour-in-germany-for-xmas/
As a result of our commitment to the performing arts, Flamenco Agency maintains a consortium and concerted actions with the International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA), so we will start 2025 celebrating the performing arts attending this conference in NYC as usual.
